Painted in Spetses, Greece, Voyage is inspired by Laskarina Bouboulina, a heroine of the Greek war of independence against the Ottoman Empire in 1821. She commanded her own fleet, including the ship 'Agamemnon', and her own private army during the revolution. Until recently, she was the first and only woman in world naval history to hold the title of Admiral. A pioneer of her time.
